CHERRY BLOSSOM BRIDAL INSPIRATION

From you have I been absent in the spring,
When proud-pied April dress’d in all his trim
Hath put a spirit of youth in every thing,
That heavy Saturn laugh’d and leap’d with him.
Yet nor the lays of birds nor the sweet smell
Of different flowers in odour and in hue
Could make me any summer’s story tell,
Or from their proud lap pluck them where they grew;
Nor did I wonder at the lily’s white,
Nor praise the deep vermilion in the rose;
They were but sweet, but figures of delight,
Drawn after you, you pattern of all those.
Yet seem’d it winter still, and, you away,
As with your shadow I with these did play.
-William Shakespeare, SONNET 98-
I was so inspired by this poem of Shakespeare and I asked my friend, April to collaborate on this project with me. A girl who was born in April when all trees were in full bloom, so meaningful! right?
This dreamy session was done in Stanley Park, Vancouver. I highly recommend checking out Stanley Park Pavilion venue if you’re looking to have an intimate wedding surrounded by nature, yet very accessible since it’s in the heart of downtown Vancouver, I shot all these on medium format film and I used Fuji 400H. I always find that film so perfect with all those pinkish tones which made our cherry blossoms even look prettier. I’m looking forward to do more portrait and engagement sessions in this amazing location.
